Subwavelength-Cavity High-Gain Circularly Polarized Antenna with Planar Metamaterials

We present a specific subwavelength-cavity high-gain circularly polarized ultra-thin antenna made of planar metamaterials. The is designed to operate at 2.80 GHz with fixed thickness approximately 1/6 the operating wavelength in free space. asymmetric unit cells metamaterial exhibit two characteristics, namely, negative permeability and polarization selection. A linear-polarization micro-strip patch, which can realize circular without complicated feeding network, embedded cavity as feed. mode be changed by simply rotating horizontally. Simulations experiments conducted on this yielded results that are good agreement each other. This new subwavelength have potentially important applications communication, early warning systems, radio observation.
